Day 1 - Foundation Phase

Day 1: The First Real Test of My 150-Day Consistency Challenge

May 27, 2026

Day 1 was not perfect, but it was not a failed day either. It showed me exactly where my weakness is right now: the morning.

I woke up late, around 7:40 AM, and instead of starting the day with control, I again picked up my phone. This is the pattern I want to break in this 150-day challenge. The day did not start the way I had planned, but I still managed to recover a good part of it.

The morning mistake: I started with the phone again

The first mistake of Day 1 was clear.

I woke up late and immediately got pulled into the phone. This is dangerous because the phone does not look like a big problem in the moment, but it silently takes away focus, energy, and control from the day.

I had breakfast and left for office on time. I reached office on time, which was a positive thing. But mentally, the day had already started with a little bit of distraction.

This is the first pattern I need to fix:
No phone before the first important task of the day.

The income anxiety and AI distraction

During the day, I started thinking about how employment is changing and how AI is taking over many roles. This also connected with my thoughts about increasing income.

Because of this, I came across an idea and started researching it. The idea may be useful in the future, but today it became a distraction. I spent almost 2 hours researching it.

This is one of my biggest problems: I get excited by new ideas and start researching them, but that research often takes me away from the task that actually needed to be completed.

The lesson is simple:

Every idea does not need immediate action. Some ideas should be written down and reviewed later.

What I completed today

Even though the day had distractions, I still completed important tasks.

Data Analytics Course

Status: 60% completed

I made progress in the data analytics course. It was not 100%, but it was still meaningful progress. This matters because my long-term goal is to become strong in data analytics and move toward the top 10% skill level.

Complete 1 lecture and solve 25 questions

Status: 75% completed

This was one of the most important tasks of the day. I could not complete it fully, but I completed a major part of it.

This shows that even when the day starts badly, I can still recover if I become aware and take action.

Office tasks

Status: Done

I completed my office responsibilities. This is important because this challenge is not only about personal goals. I also need to become better in my current responsibilities.

1 hour evening walk

Status: Partially done

I could not complete the full 1 hour walk, but I still did some movement. This is a partial win, but not enough. Fitness is one of the main goals of this 150-day challenge, so I need to take the walking target more seriously.

Light dinner prepared by myself

Status: Done

This was a good win. I had a light dinner at night and prepared it myself. This supports my fitness goal and also builds discipline around food.

What went wrong today

The main problems of Day 1 were:

  1. I woke up late.
  2. I started the day with phone use.
  3. I got distracted by a new income idea.
  4. I spent around 2 hours researching instead of staying focused.
  5. My walking target was only partially completed.

The biggest issue was not lack of ability. The biggest issue was lack of control over attention.

What went right today

The day still had some good points:

  1. I reached office on time.
  2. I completed office work.
  3. I made progress in my data analytics course.
  4. I completed 75% of my lecture and question-solving task.
  5. I did some walking.
  6. I had a light dinner prepared by myself.
  7. I became aware of the distraction and started actively managing the day.

This is important because the goal of the challenge is not to become perfect in one day. The goal is to become honest, aware, and better than yesterday.

Day 1 completion review

Task Status
Wake up early Not done
Avoid phone in the morning Not done
Data Analytics Course 60% done
Complete 1 lecture and solve 25 questions 75% done
Office tasks Done
1 hour evening walk Partially done
Light dinner prepared by myself Done

Day 1 lesson

The biggest lesson from Day 1 is that my day depends heavily on how I start the morning.

If I start with the phone, my mind becomes scattered. If I start with one focused task, the day becomes more controlled.

The second lesson is that new ideas should not disturb the current day’s execution. I can write ideas down, but I should not allow them to take 2 hours from my main goals.

Correction for Day 2

For Day 2, I need to keep the plan simple:

  • Wake up earlier than Day 1.
  • Do not touch the phone after waking up.
  • Complete the first learning block before checking random content.
  • Keep new ideas in a separate note and research them only during a fixed time.
  • Complete the walking target properly.
  • Finish the lecture and questions fully.

Final review of Day 1

Day 1 was not perfect, but it was honest.

I started badly, got distracted, wasted time, but still completed important parts of the day. This is exactly why I started this challenge. I do not want to hide from the truth anymore.

Today showed me that my biggest fight is not with time. My biggest fight is with attention.

If I control my attention, I can control my day.
If I control my day, I can rebuild my life.

This was Day 1.
Not perfect, but active.
Not fully disciplined, but aware.
Tomorrow must be better.
